The Norwich Merchants had trouble finding ways to stop the Burford Bulldogs, which beat Merchants, 7-4.

With the win, Burford evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Bulldogs' penalty kill excelled, as Burford gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays.

The Bulldogs stifled Norwich's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Burford kept the Merchants' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jesse Schoeman made 27 saves on 34 shots.

The Bulldogs were helped by Jesse Brooks, who registered one goal and one assist. Brooks scored 10:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Burford. Mitch Randell assisted on the tally. Burford also got points from Chris Grand, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Randell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Burford also had goals scored by Kyle Walker, who had two and Blaise Burtnick and Mark McGregor, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Broidy Rondelet, who had one.

Norwich's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Burford power plays. The Merchants forced Burford goalie Riley Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Norwich got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Merchants were helped by Braeden Shand, who grabbed one goal. Shand scored 10:24 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Burford. Mitchell Berzins picked up the assist. Norwich additionally got points from Troy Lamoure, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Norwich included Riley Monture and Alex Daley, who scored one goal each. In addition, Norwich received assists from Kurtis Lavis and Darcey Butler, who contributed one each.

Edwards recorded 30 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Norwich ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For the Merchants, Matt Zilke and Dalton Alford were ejected from the contest.
