East outlasts Frontier, 5-4

East and Frontier were evenly matched throughout their contest, but East made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tyler Zalecki at 17:53 of the third period.

Zalecki had a great game for East, netting two goals.

East's offense rang up 31 shots on Frontier's net.

East also got points from Hunter Schneider, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for East included Pearce Vance and Mark McGee, who each put in one. In addition, East received assists from Cody Estrel, who had two and Tim Weisgerber, Luke Sunde, Eli Lynn, Brenden Williams, and Michael Straub, who contributed one each.

Frontier was helped by Lucas Stover, who had one goal and one assist. Stover scored 17:32 into the second period to make the score 4-3 East. Ian Wiljanen assisted on the tally. Frontier additionally got points from Kendall Bolen-Porter, who also registered one goal and one assist. Frontier also had goals scored by Lucas Lomax and Gunnar Mogck, who scored one goal each. More assists for Frontier came via Arseny Ivanov, Bryce Mitzel, Josh Larson, Matt Gamblin, and Sawyer Scanlan, who each chipped in one.

East's Brian Baker stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. East ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Grant Martens rejected 26 shots on goal for Frontier. Frontier avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
