Grimsby downs Simcoe, 4-1Peach King Arena Fri, Feb 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Andrew Brown tallied one point to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Simcoe Storm. The win gave Grimsby a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Peach Kings stifled Simcoe's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Grimsby kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Note Pursky made 30 saves on 34 shots. Grimsby also had goals scored by Andrew McMurtrie, Garnet McComber, and Griffin Roubos, who each put in one. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Malcolm Lynett, who had two and Steven Polich, Jeromy Hopkins, Derek Rotter, and Brennan Smith, who each chipped in one. Simcoe was led by Taz Myers, who scored the team's only goal. Myers scored 11:10 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Grimsby. Corson Searles assisted on the tally. The Peach Kings' Jeremy Currie stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Grimsby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Storm incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
