Vieira nets hat trick, leads Essex to 7-4 win over Mooretown

Michael Vieira netted a hat trick to lead the Essex 73s over the Mooretown Flags, 7-4.Vieira got on the scoresheet 1:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:01 into the second and at 18:14 into the third.
The win gave Essex a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.
The 73s forced Mooretown goalie Brandon Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.
Essex additionally got points from William Stadder, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Matthew Hebert also scored for Essex. More assists for Essex came via Eric Shaw, who had two and Anthony Cristofaro, Tyler Scott, Scott Bromley, and Brandon Obrien, who contributed one each.
