The Clarington Eagles could not stop the Little Britain Merchants' Terry Snoddon, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win. Snoddon's first goal came 17:44 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:42 into the second and at 8:23 into the third.Little Britain was led by goalie Adam Harris, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Harris certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.96 entering the contest. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:51 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Merchants' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 14 minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Little Britain had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Merchants' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 12 Clarington power plays. Little Britain's offense rang up 36 shots on Clarington's net. Others who scored for Little Britain included Nathan Hughes and Brady Martin, who each put in one. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Kurtis Moore, Brant Foster, Hayden Long, Mason Patterson, and Matt VanKessel, who each chipped in one. The Eagles racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Clarington surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. The Eagles stifled the Merchants' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Clarington was held below its usual level of production. The Eagles average 4.2 goals per game. Little Britain was unable to stop Clarington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Merchants registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Little Britain ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mark Harris was ejected from the game. Connor Visca made 31 saves for Clarington on 36 shots. For the Eagles, Darby Medd was ejected from the game.
