M2 Lewis University squeaks by M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of, 5-3

M2 Lewis University and M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M2 Lewis University made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Matthew Eberhardt's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Eberhardt was all over the ice for M2 Lewis University, as he had two goals in the win.

M2 Lewis University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. With 34 shots on target during the contest, M2 Lewis University exceeded the 1.0 shot it averages per game this year.

M2 Lewis University also got points from Tyler Adams, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M2 Lewis University included Nicholas Johnsen and Cody Post, who scored one goal each. In addition, M2 Lewis University received assists from John Schwarz, Bradley Hojek, Ethan Sweeney, Pat Conoboy, and Joseph Santelli, who contributed one each and Patrick Gill and Brendan Bednarz, who each chipped in two.

M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M2 Lewis University power plays. M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.5 it averages per game.

M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of was helped by Owen Ahlstrom, who registered two goals. Ahlstrom scored the first of his two goals at 11:19 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brandon Beier picked up the assist. Ahlstrom's next tally made the score 3-3 with 1:13 left in the second period. Jason Atkinson provided the assist. M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of additionally got points from Beier, who also registered one goal and one assist. M2 Lewis University's starting goalie, Zachary Prkut, made nine saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Cason Kirkpatrick, who stopped 17 shots. M2 Lewis University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tony Francois took the loss and made 13 saves before being replaced by Eric Vela who made 16 saves. M2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh University of incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
