M1 Ithaca College falls to M1 Cornell University in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The M1 Cornell University Big Red's Nathaniel Welsh scored 4:58 into overtime to beat the M1 Ithaca College Bombers, 3-2 (OT).

M1 Cornell University was led by Welsh, who tallied one goal.

With 59 shots on target during the contest, the Big Red exceeded the 0.2 shots they average per game this year.

Others who scored for M1 Cornell University included Thomas Carpenter and Tedric Bellis, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Cornell University came via Dylan Parker and Austin Oconnor, who contributed one each.

M1 Ithaca College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Cornell University to score on any of its four power plays. The 39 shots that the Bombers put on net surpassed M1 Ithaca College's average of 0.5 shots per game this season.

The Bombers were helped by Nick Mecca, who tallied one goal. Mecca scored on the power play 8:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. M1 Ithaca College earned a power play opportunity when Phil Variano was put in the box for roughing. Onesemiah Sutich provided the assist. Joey Hanf also scored for M1 Ithaca College. In addition, M1 Ithaca College received assists from Christopher Merkel, Zander Hoke, and Tim Foster, who each chipped in one.

Kevin Lebron took the win and made 14 saves before being replaced by Patrick Russell who made 23 saves. The Big Red incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jonathan Lipshutz rejected 56 shots on goal for the Bombers. M1 Ithaca College incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
