M1 Cornell University uses big second period to beat M1 Saint Bonaventure University, 9-3

The M1 Saint Bonaventure University Bonnies allowed the M1 Cornell University Big Red to net three goals during the second period and fell, 9-3.

M1 Cornell University got the win on the strength of a great game by Nathaniel Welsh, who had two goals and two assists. Welsh scored the first of his two goals at 8:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Cornell University. Welsh's next tally made the score 4-1 M1 Cornell University with 11:30 left in the second period. The Big Red had taken the advantage when M1 Saint Bonaventure University's Brandon Prendergast got sent off for interference. Tyler Khilnani provided the assist.

M1 Cornell University found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Big Red average 4.6 goals per game. M1 Cornell University capitalized on the Bonnies' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. By firing 40 shots on goal, the Big Red exceeded the 0.1 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Cornell University also got points from Michael Habib, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Dylan Parker, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for M1 Cornell University included Tedric Bellis and Thomas Suesser, who scored two goals each. More assists for M1 Cornell University came via Phil Variano, who had one and Thomas Carpenter, who had two.

M1 Saint Bonaventure University's offense rang up 36 shots on M1 Cornell University's net.

The Bonnies were helped by Andrew Farnham, who finished with one goal. Farnham scored 12:14 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Joe Piegay assisted on the tally. M1 Saint Bonaventure University additionally got points from Jordan Ashman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. M1 Saint Bonaventure University also got a goal from Sean Devine as well.

Kevin Lebron made 18 saves before being replaced by Conor Bunyan, who took the win and made 15 saves. The Big Red incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Roberto Arredondo Bahensky took the loss and made 26 saves before being replaced by Alex Feyche who made five saves. M1 Saint Bonaventure University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
