St. Michaels College holds on for 5-3 win against Upper Canada CollegeSt. Michaels Rink Thu, Jan 08, 2015 The Upper Canada College Blues tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Michaels College Majors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3. St. Michaels College made the score 5-2 on a goal by Andrew Petrucci at 4:00 in the third period, and Upper Canada College got as close as 5-3 when Jake Muchnik scored 8:46 into the third period. The Majors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blues to score on any of their five power plays. St. Michaels College's offense rang up 34 shots on Upper Canada College's net. The Majors could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. St. Michaels College was helped by Massimo DeMarinis, who finished with one goal. DeMarinis scored 3:08 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Michaels College. Michael Locatelli picked up the assist. St. Michaels College also got points from Mac Caruana, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Michaels College also had goals scored by Mark Paolini and Alex Acosta, who each put in one. More assists for St. Michaels College came via Michael Pontarollo, Zach Warus, and Michael Byrne, who each chipped in one. The Blues could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. Upper Canada College was led by Matthew Baker, who grabbed one goal and two assists.
