California Titans 16U uses shootout to best Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U, 5-4

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as California Titans 16U defeated Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U in a shootout 5-4.

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. In addition to the clincher, California Titans 16U got a shootout goal from Austin Hanson.

California Titans 16U saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. California Titans 16U made the score 4-2 on a goal by Troy Robertson at 3:31 in the third period. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U evened things up at 4-4 on a goal by Sean Mallonee at 10:02 in the third period.

California Titans 16U forced Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U goalie Jason Pichette to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. California Titans 16U's goal total was higher than its season average. Other players who recorded assists for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U were Troy Pichette, who had one.

Veeti Haapasalo rejected 25 shots on goal for California Titans 16U. California Titans 16U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Pichette recorded 26 saves for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
