Colorado Eagles survives Whitefish Wolverines comeback, wins 5-4

Colorado Eagles, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Whitefish Wolverines and clinched a 5-4 victory.

Colorado Eagles led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Colorado Eagles' Levi Weber scored at 12:58 in the second period to put Colorado Eagles up 5-2.

Colorado Eagles got the win with help from a great game by Weber, who had one goal and two assists.

In the losing effort, Whitefish Wolverines was led by Brett Fernandez, who racked up two goals. Fernandez scored the first of his two goals at 10:05 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Colorado Eagles. Danny Roe picked up the assist. Fernandez's next tally made the score 5-3 Colorado Eagles with 4:06 left in the second period. Kieffer Helbing assisted on the tally.

Whitefish Wolverines was unable to stop Colorado Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Colorado Eagles eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Colorado Eagles also got points from Brad Campbell, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Scott Smoot, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Colorado Eagles included Brad Pershing and Nick Davidson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Colorado Eagles received assists from MacGregor Haddon and Trenton Hines, who contributed one each.

Whitefish Wolverines additionally got points from Chris Cutshall, who also registered one goal and one assist and Roe, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Whitefish Wolverines were Cruise Brown, Ian Wiens, Evan Carter, and Aleksei Garin, who each chipped in one.

Colorado Eagles' Hunter Jackson stopped 13 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Colorado Eagles incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brendan Schultz made 43 saves for Whitefish Wolverines on 48 shots. Whitefish Wolverines incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
