NEW JERSEY SURGE stifles NORTHEAST UPRISING's comeback, gains 3-1 victory

NORTHEAST UPRISING almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but NEW JERSEY SURGE managed to pull out a 3-1 win in the end.

NEW JERSEY SURGE led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when NEW JERSEY SURGE's Matt Pemper scored at 10:20 in the second period to put NEW JERSEY SURGE up 3-0.

NEW JERSEY SURGE was led by goalie Justin Teats, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Teats certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 10.56 entering the contest.

NEW JERSEY SURGE was paced by Ryan Scalzo, who tallied one goal and one assist. Scalzo scored 3:44 into the second period to make the score 2-0 NEW JERSEY SURGE. Kyle Edgar picked up the assist.

NEW JERSEY SURGE forced NORTHEAST UPRISING goalie Will Botelho to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The defensemen of NEW JERSEY SURGE were also effective in NORTHEAST UPRISING's zone, and came away with two goals.

NEW JERSEY SURGE also got a goal from Ryan Braun as well. In addition, NEW JERSEY SURGE received assists from Kyle Draper, who had one.

NORTHEAST UPRISING did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. NORTHEAST UPRISING puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

NORTHEAST UPRISING was led by Derek Bissonnette, who scored the team's only goal. Bissonnette scored 11:22 into the second period to make the score 3-1 NEW JERSEY SURGE. Fernando Cartasena provided the assist.

NEW JERSEY SURGE ended with no penalties and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Botelho recorded 31 saves for NORTHEAST UPRISING. NORTHEAST UPRISING incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
