Lowry's big game bests M2 High Point University in 12-4 M2 Elon University win

Hayden Lowry was all over the ice for the M2 Elon University Phoenix, as he tallied two goals and two assists in M2 Elon University's 12-4 win over the M2 High Point University Panthers.

Lowry scored on the power play at 4:07 into the second period to make the score 5-3 M2 Elon University and again while 10:13 into the second to make the score 7-4 M2 Elon University.

The Phoenix's penalty kill excelled, as M2 Elon University gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Phoenix's goal total was higher than their season average. This season, M2 Elon University averages 4.2 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Phoenix were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 38 penalty minutes. M2 Elon University put 71 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.2 it averages per game.

M2 Elon University additionally got points from Demitri Marken, who also had two goals and one assist, Nick Garfield, who also registered one goal and one assist, and John MacDonald, who also tallied one goal and two assists. M2 Elon University also got a goal from Tom Macdonald as well. In addition, M2 Elon University received assists from Max Mueffelmann, Greg Melanson, and Matt Williamson, who contributed one each and Cameron Bloomer, Sam Sarath, and Connor Martin, who each chipped in two.

Garrett Johnston rejected 28 shots on goal for M2 Elon University. M2 High Point University took out Chris Wilkens after he had made 41 saves and installed Jack Swartz in goal, where he finished with 18 saves and the loss. The Panthers incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
