M1 Western Michigan University let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Stallions took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Nick Murphy at 12:30 in the first period. M1 Western Michigan University found itself down 3-1 after M1 Eastern Michigan University's Michael Salata put the puck home at 2:25 in the second period. After knotting things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Jesse Cameron at 37 seconds in the third, the Stallions got the game-winner from Zach Mudge at 6:38 in the third period. Mudge had one goal and two assists to lead M1 Western Michigan University. With 39 shots on target during the contest, the Stallions exceeded the 1.9 shot they average per game this year. M1 Western Michigan University also got points from Murphy, who also had one goal and one assist and Jacob Taiariol, who also racked up one goal and two assists. In addition, M1 Western Michigan University received assists from Zackery Hummel, who had one and Niko Michos, who had two. The 23 shots that the Eagles put on net surpassed M1 Eastern Michigan University's average of 2.3 shots per game this season.
