M2 Elon University beats M2 Duke University 4-2 after comeback scareTriangle SportsPlex Rink Sat, Nov 22, 2014 The M2 Duke University Blue Devils tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the M2 Elon University Phoenix held on for a 4-2 victory. A goal by Hayden Lowry put M2 Elon University up 4-1 in the third period, but M2 Duke University pulled to within two on Travis Buck's tally 7:43 into the third period. Sam Sarath had two goals to lead the Phoenix to victory. Sarath scored at 53 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Elon University and again while three seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 M2 Elon University. M2 Elon University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The 51 shots that the Phoenix put on net surpassed M2 Elon University's average of 0.2 shots per game this season. M2 Elon University also got points from Lowry, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M2 Elon University also got a goal from Evan Weisburger as well. In addition, M2 Elon University received assists from Nick Garfield, John MacDonald, and Cameron Bloomer, who each chipped in one. The Blue Devils' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M2 Elon University power plays. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Duke University were Ellis Baehr, who had two. Colin Langham rejected 23 shots on goal for the Phoenix. M2 Elon University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Andre Van Rynbach made 47 saves for M2 Duke University on 50 shots.
