The shootout lasted for four attempts between the teams. M1 Naval Academy / United States' other shootout goal was scored by Dustin Oberlander.Oberlander was all over the ice for the Midshipmen, as he registered two goals in the win. Oberlander scored at 4:08 into the third period to make the score 2-2 and again while 4:35 into the third to make the score 3-2 M1 Naval Academy / United States. M1 Rhode Island / University of's power play was ineffective against M1 Naval Academy / United States' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.
