M2 Rowan University beats M1 Villanova University 4-2 after comeback scare

The M1 Villanova University Wildcats tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but M2 Rowan University held on for a 4-2 victory.

M2 Rowan University made the score 4-1 on a goal by Svyatoslav Okshin at 7:45 in the third period, and M1 Villanova University got as close as 4-2 when James Kirchgraber scored 16:00 into the third period.

M2 Rowan University was paced by Dalton OConnor, who racked up one goal and one assist. OConnor scored 7:15 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M2 Rowan University.

M2 Rowan University put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.1 it averages per game.

M2 Rowan University also got a goal from Alec Nicolai as well. More assists for M2 Rowan University came via Patrick Curiale, Tyler Glassman, and Mike Mcgahey, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. M1 Villanova University averages 4.4 goals per game. With 37 shots on target during the contest, the Wildcats exceeded the 0.3 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Villanova University's starting goalie, Sean Barrett, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Michael Harper, who stopped 11 shots. The Wildcats ended with no penalties and went 1-for-0 on the power play.
