St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) vanquishes Belle Tire (mm) in shootout, 5-4 (3-2 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) defeated Belle Tire (mm) in a shootout 5-4 (3-2 SO).

The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. Belle Tire (mm)'s shootout goals were scored by Jack Studnicka and Nolan Baldrica. In addition to the clincher, St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) got shootout goals from Brady Tkachuk and Nick Balestra.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) was down 4-2 after a goal by Belle Tire (mm)'s Brandon Kruse at 6:30 in the third period. St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Balestra at 15:01 in the third period.

In a losing effort, Belle Tire (mm) was led by Baldrica, who finished with two goals. Baldrica scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:03 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Belle Tire (mm) had gained a power play chance when John Sieckhaus was whistled for roughing. Studnicka provided the assist. Baldrica's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Belle Tire (mm) with 15:57 left in the third period. Studnicka assisted on the tally.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Belle Tire (mm) to score three power play goals on five chances.

St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) was helped by Ethan Stahlhuth, who tallied one goal. Stahlhuth scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Belle Tire (mm). Matthew Hohl provided the assist. Others who scored for St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) included Luke Gassett and Tim Makowski, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) came via Tkachuk, who had one and Ryan Edgar, who had two.

Belle Tire (mm) forced St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) goalie Trevor Osborne to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Belle Tire (mm) additionally got points from Brenden Stanko, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Belle Tire (mm) were Zachary Hart, Blake Kryska, and Jake Young, who contributed one each.

Trevor Osborne made 39 saves for St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) on 43 shots. St. Louis AAA Blues (mm) incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ryan McInchak rejected 24 shots on goal for Belle Tire (mm). Belle Tire (mm) incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
