SARNOWSKI nets hat trick, leads Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) to 5-2 win over Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM)

Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) could not stop Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s ZACH SARNOWSKI, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

SARNOWSKI's first goal came 16:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:57 into the second and at 4:43 into the third.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) forced Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) goalie Jaxon Castor to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) additionally got points from MATT JENNINGS, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) received assists from TYLER TATE, who had two and SCOTT AARON, ERIC HIRSCHHAUT, RYAN MILAN, DOMINIC WHITNEY, IAN DREXLER, and CHRISTOPHER MAGEE, who contributed one each.

Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) was helped by Chris Nicolai, who grabbed one goal. Nicolai scored 9:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). Connor Stuart picked up the assist. Alex Aguirre also scored for Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM). More assists for Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) came via Brandon Winter and Seth Lind, who each chipped in one.

JEREMY WIK rejected 26 shots on goal for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
