Belle Tire (MM) uses shootout to best Thunder AAA Hockey (MM), 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Belle Tire (MM) defeated Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams.

Belle Tire (MM) was sparked by Mitchell Galea, who tallied one goal. Galea scored 15:26 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Belle Tire (MM). Chris Murphy provided the assist.

In a losing effort, Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) was paced by MATT JENNINGS, who grabbed two goals. JENNINGS scored the first of his two goals at 8:12 into the second period to make the score 1-1. JENNINGS' next tally made the score 2-2 with 2:49 left in the third period. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) had gotten the advantage when Belle Tire (MM)'s Marshall Moise was sent off for tripping. TYLER TATE picked up the assist.

Belle Tire (MM) also got points from Murphy, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Belle Tire (MM) were Dean Hewines, Fedor Gusynin, and Logan Orem, who contributed one each.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) stifled Belle Tire (MM)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Corbin Kaczperski recorded 21 saves for Belle Tire (MM). Belle Tire (MM) incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s TYLER CARONIA stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
