Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) uses shootout to best Boston Advantage (MM), 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) defeated Boston Advantage (MM) in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured 14 attempts between both teams. Boston Advantage (MM) got a shootout goal from Harrison Piper. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM)'s other shootout goal was scored by Matthew Damico.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) made the score 4-2 on a goal by JOSEPH SCHULER at 8:23 in the third period. Boston Advantage (MM) evened things up at 4-4 on a goal by Patrick Holway at 15:37 in the third period.

Brendan Miller had two goals and one assist to lead Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM). Miller scored the first of his two goals at 17:55 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Collin Rutherford assisted on the tally. Miller's next tally made the score 3-2 Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) with 16:07 left in the third period. Ryan Wheeler picked up the assist.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) kept Boston Advantage (MM)'s goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Mayanja made 48 saves on 53 shots. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign.
