The M1 West Virginia University Mountaineers survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Naval Academy / United States Midshipmen on the way to a 3-2 win.

M1 West Virginia University took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have M1 Naval Academy / United States storm back on a Steven Knopf goal 19:00 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Mountaineers were sparked by Harrison Colby, who registered one goal and one assist. Colby scored 7:31 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M1 West Virginia University. James Murray picked up the assist.

M1 West Virginia University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Mountaineers exceeded the 0.6 shots they average per game this year.
