M1 Liberty University holds on for 4-3 win against M1 Oakland UniversityONYX 1 Sat, Nov 22, 2014 The M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Liberty University Flames held on for a 4-3 victory. M1 Liberty University took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have M1 Oakland University storm back on a Michael Mackinnon goal 17:33 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Flames got the win on the strength of a great game by Luke Hannon, who had two goals and one assist. Hannon scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Will Shier had put M1 Liberty University on the power play. Ben Hughes picked up the assist. Hannon's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 M1 Liberty University with 5:11 left in the second period. The Flames earned a power play opportunity when John Baker was put in the box for slashing. Hughes assisted on the tally.
