Baker, Balent lead M1 Oakland University over M1 Liberty University, 7-4

Behind two goals from John Baker and three goals William Balent, the M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies downed the M1 Liberty University Flames 7-4.

Baker scored the first of his two goals at 8:08 into the third period to make the score 5-3 M1 Oakland University. James Odom provided the assist. Baker's next tally made the score 6-3 M1 Oakland University with 7:56 left in the third period. Matt Stirling assisted on the tally.

M1 Oakland University's offense rang up 40 shots on M1 Liberty University's net. The Golden Grizzlies outdid their season average for goals scored. M1 Oakland University averages 4.9 goals per game. The defensemen of the Golden Grizzlies were also effective in the Flames' zone, and came away with two goals.

M1 Oakland University also got points from Stirling, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Patrick Smiatacz also scored for M1 Oakland University. More assists for M1 Oakland University came via Will Shier, Ian Jacobs, Andrew Parus, and Tom Kilgore, who each chipped in one.

M1 Liberty University's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Flames put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 29.9 they average per game.

M1 Liberty University was helped by Cam Bakker, who registered two goals. Bakker scored the first of his two goals short handed at 11:10 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Oakland University. The Flames played down a man on Bram Erickson's head contact. Christian Garland picked up the assist. Bakker's next tally short handed made the score 6-4 M1 Oakland University with 5:41 left in the third period. Paul Lamoureux assisted on the tally. M1 Liberty University additionally got points from Lamoureux, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M1 Liberty University also got a goal from Lindsay LeBlanc as well. In addition, M1 Liberty University received assists from Ben Hughes, Chase Harris, Luke Simon, and Danny Logan, who contributed one each.

Corey Hrischuk made 32 saves for M1 Oakland University on 36 shots. The Golden Grizzlies incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ian Harris rejected 33 shots on goal for M1 Liberty University. The Flames totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
