M1 Niagara University shrugs off penalties, upends M1 John Carroll University, 3-1

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles were able to defeat the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks, 3-1.

M1 Niagara University was led by Charlie Chamberlain, who registered one goal. Chamberlain scored 10:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Niagara University. Dalton Bew assisted on the tally.

The Purple Eagles were held below their usual level of production. M1 Niagara University averages 5.5 goals per game. The Purple Eagles put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.5 they average per game. M1 Niagara University was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 40 penalty minutes.

M1 Niagara University additionally got points from Bew, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Patrick Gregory also scored for M1 Niagara University. In addition, M1 Niagara University received assists from Andrew Mitch, who had two and Tyler Stockwell and Zachary Seither, who contributed one each.
