M2 Army survives M2 Georgetown University comeback, wins 4-2

M2 Army survived a determined comeback attempt by the M2 Georgetown University Hoyas on the way to a 4-2 win.

M2 Army made the score 4-1 on a goal by Tyler Rettke at 6:57 in the second period, and M2 Georgetown University got as close as 4-2 when Daniel Shea scored 12:13 into the third period.

Matthew Riehl had two goals to lead M2 Army to victory. Riehl scored at 18:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Army and again while on the power play 2:23 into the second to make the score 2-1 M2 Army.

M2 Army put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hoyas to score on any of their three power plays.

James Morsch also scored for M2 Army. More assists for M2 Army came via Deritter and Thane Heller, who contributed one each.

M2 Georgetown University's offense operated below its season average. The Hoyas average 4.4 goals per game.

M2 Georgetown University was led by Chad Heal, who registered one goal and one assist. Heal scored 59 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Georgetown University were Max Capizzi, who had one.

M2 Army incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hoyas ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
