Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M3-Colorado-Colorado Springs Univer defeated M3-Texas Tech University (NPS) in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

M3-Colorado-Colorado Springs Univer saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. M3-Colorado-Colorado Springs Univer made the score 4-2 on a goal by Cody Johnson at 7:52 in the third period.
