M1 Rochester College beats M1 Western Michigan University 5-4 after comeback scare

The M1 Western Michigan University Stallions tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the M1 Rochester College Warriors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

M1 Rochester College took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have M1 Western Michigan University storm back on a Brandon Grillo goal 11:37 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Brock Malatches was all over the ice for the Warriors, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Malatches scored 15:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Rochester College. Matt Kadolph assisted on the tally.

M1 Rochester College kept the Stallions' goalie busy throughout the game, and John Cizzo made 35 saves on 40 shots.

M1 Rochester College also got points from Joshua Botimer, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Kadolph, who also had two goals and one assist, and Doug Lindensmith, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Christopher Williford, who had two and Jake Zarzycki and Dakota Olvin, who contributed one each.

M1 Western Michigan University put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.1 it averages per game.

M1 Western Michigan University additionally got points from Cole Kapovich, who also registered one goal and one assist. M1 Western Michigan University also had goals scored by Niko Michos and Michael Dambrosio, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Western Michigan University were Zach Mudge, who had two and Andrew Vanek, Nicholas Elliott, and Andrew Holder, who each chipped in one.
