M3-McKendree University's comeback falls short, M3-Missouri State University wins 7-6

M3-McKendree University almost clawed its way back from a four-goal deficit, but M3-Missouri State University managed to pull out a 7-6 win in the end.

M3-Missouri State University led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when M3-Missouri State University's Michael Humme scored at 11:13 in the second period to put M3-Missouri State University up 6-2.

M3-Missouri State University got the win with help from a great game by Tyler Reineri, who had one goal and two assists. Reineri scored 5:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M3-Missouri State University. Shawn Leslie assisted on the tally.

M3-Missouri State University found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, M3-Missouri State University averages 4.2 goals per contest. With 47 shots on target during the contest, M3-Missouri State University exceeded the 1.3 shot it averages per game this year.

M3-McKendree University had taken the advantage when M3-Missouri State University's Leslie got sent off for hooking. Dylan Mueth provided the assist. M3-McKendree University additionally got points from Garrett Kellam, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Ryan Sizer, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Zachary Loehr, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Mueth, who also had one goal and one assist.

Joseph Macconnell recorded 29 saves for M3-Missouri State University. M3-Missouri State University ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Chris Stier made seven saves before being replaced by Trevor Klostermann, who took the loss and made 33 saves. M3-McKendree University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
