M2 Northeastern University survives M2 Bryant University comeback, wins 5-4

M2 Northeastern University survived a determined comeback attempt by M2 Bryant University on the way to a 5-4 win.

A goal by Kenneth Phillips put M2 Northeastern University up 5-2 in the third period, but M2 Bryant University pulled to within one on Nicholas Gerlach's tally 12:10 into the third period.

In the losing effort, M2 Bryant University was paced by Gerlach, who finished with two goals. Gerlach scored the first of his two goals short handed at 19:25 into the second period to make the score 4-2 M2 Northeastern University. M2 Bryant University was on a disadvantage when Clayton Caron went off the ice for hooking. Sean Henderson assisted on the tally. Gerlach's next tally short handed made the score 5-4 M2 Northeastern University with 7:50 left in the third period. Spencer Martin provided the assist.

M2 Northeastern University stifled M2 Bryant University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 36 shots on goal, M2 Northeastern University exceeded the 0.5 shots it averages per game this year.

M2 Northeastern University also got points from Ryan Yurewicz, who also registered one goal and one assist and Graham Doherty, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M2 Northeastern University also had goals scored by Evan Jones and Sean Daly, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Northeastern University were Ian Penvose, Sam Langrock, John Gosbee, Connor Twaddle, Michael Winters, and Jake Jaeger, who contributed one each.

M2 Bryant University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M2 Northeastern University to score on any of its three power plays. M2 Bryant University put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 it averages per game.

M2 Bryant University additionally got points from Henderson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M2 Bryant University also got a goal from Nick Capalbo as well. In addition, M2 Bryant University received assists from Jonathan Satell, Cale Woodworth, and Nathan Crepeau, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Kamm took the win and made 10 saves before being replaced by Zachary Webert who made 17 saves. M2 Northeastern University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
