Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers defeated the M1 Towson University Tigers in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. M1 Towson University got a shootout goal from Nicholas Vonakis. In addition to the clincher, M1 Pittsburgh University of got a shootout goal from Bobby Tritschler.

The Panthers were led by goalie Alex Androkites, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Androkites managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.84 prior to the game.

The Tigers were unable to stop M1 Pittsburgh University of from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

M1 Pittsburgh University of was led by Jonathan Kashmere, who tallied one goal. Kashmere scored 5:55 into the third period to make the score 1-0 M1 Pittsburgh University of. Ryan Rosato picked up the assist. In addition, M1 Pittsburgh University of received assists from Jeff Clark, who had one.

M1 Towson University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M1 Pittsburgh University of power plays. The Tigers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season.
