Stein nets hat trick, leads M1 Pittsburgh University of to 8-3 win over M1 Slippery Rock University

Brian Stein lifted the M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers to an 8-3 victory with a hat trick against the M1 Slippery Rock University Pride.

Stein got on the scoresheet 47 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 12:39 into the second and at 7:53 into the third.

M1 Pittsburgh University of outdid its season average for goals scored. The Panthers average 3.1 goals per game. M1 Pittsburgh University of's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to M1 Slippery Rock University's power play unit. The Panthers put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.5 they average per game.

M1 Pittsburgh University of also got points from Nick Blaney, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for M1 Pittsburgh University of included Connor Cash, who had two and Matthew Russavage and Craig Mazzotta, who each put in one. The Pride had gotten the advantage when M1 Pittsburgh University of's Cash was sent off for interference. JT Grahl picked up the assist. Gratton's next tally on the power play made the score 8-3 M1 Pittsburgh University of with 4:05 left in the third period. M1 Slippery Rock University earned a power play opportunity when Tritschler was put in the box for slashing. Garrett Godlewski assisted on the tally. M1 Slippery Rock University additionally got points from Grahl, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Slippery Rock University received assists from Joseph Bender, who had one.

Ben Cirba rejected 19 shots on goal for the Panthers. M1 Pittsburgh University of incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Benjamin Crawford made 32 saves before being replaced by Lee Anderson, who took the loss and made zero saves. The Pride incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
