The M1 Villanova University Wildcats' penalty kill was superb, as M1 Villanova University survived multiple penalties to beat the M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers, 3-1.

The Wildcats were led by Nicholas Abel, who finished with one goal. Abel scored 9:55 into the third period to make the score 2-1 M1 Villanova University. Matthew Oleksak provided the assist.

M1 Villanova University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Pittsburgh University of to score on any of its six power plays. With 36 shots on target during the contest, the Wildcats exceeded the 0.4 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Villanova University also had goals scored by Nicholas Schultz and Troy Donahue, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Villanova University came via Aidan Rush, John Gyurina, John Gorman, and Michael Miniconzi, who contributed one each.

The Panthers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven M1 Villanova University power plays. M1 Pittsburgh University of did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Panthers put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. M1 Pittsburgh University of's offense was clicking better than usual and put 20 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.6 shots per game it averages. The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Pittsburgh University of was led by Jimmy Law, who scored the team's only goal. Law scored 1:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Justin Delmaster assisted on the tally.

Michael Harper recorded 19 saves for M1 Villanova University. The Wildcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ben Cirba rejected 33 shots on goal for the Panthers.
