Gray leads Ridley College to shutout victory over Appleby College

Cam Gray was superb between the pipes for the Ridley College Tigers, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Appleby College Blue Dogs.

Connor Hill had two goals to lead Ridley College to victory. Hill scored at 14:35 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ridley College and again while 3:29 into the third to make the score 3-0 Ridley College.

The Tigers stifled Appleby College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ridley College struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 17 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays.

Ridley College additionally got points from Christian Girhiny, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Ridley College received assists from Cole Cameron, who had two and Alex Herbert, Brendan Lochead, and Noah Tooke, who each chipped in one.

The Blue Dogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 11 chances. Appleby College could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Blue Dogs average 2.7 goals per game. Appleby College forced the Tigers goalie Gray to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Blue Dogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

Gray rejected 31 shots on goal for Ridley College. Avery Gobbo made 22 saves for Appleby College on 25 shots.
