Upper Canada College outlasts St. Michaels College, 5-3

The Upper Canada College Blues and the St. Michaels College Majors were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Upper Canada College made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Sean Medeiros at 15:10 of the third period.

Greg Marks and Medeiros provided the spark for the Blues, combining for three goals and one assist. Marks registered two goals and one assist and Medeiros also added one goal.

Upper Canada College stifled St. Michaels College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Upper Canada College additionally got points from Matthew Baker, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Upper Canada College also got a goal from Jake Muchnik as well. In addition, Upper Canada College received assists from Michael Wood and Jackson Suboch, who contributed one each.

The Majors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Blues were unable to stop St. Michaels College from sending pucks towards the net, and the Majors eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

St. Michaels College was led by Nick Salamon, who racked up two goals. Salamon scored the first of his two goals at 13:46 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Cabot Mackenzie assisted on the tally. Salamon's next tally made the score 3-3 with 11:34 left in the third period. Mark Paolini provided the assist. Andrew Petrucci also scored for St. Michaels College. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels College were Marco Violo and Michael Locatelli, who each chipped in one.

Jack Pendrith recorded 35 saves for Upper Canada College. The Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Majors' Jack Edmands stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. St. Michaels College incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
