Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) beats Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) 4-2 after comeback scare

Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) survived a determined comeback attempt by Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) on the way to a 4-2 win.

Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) made the score 4-1 on a goal by Ian Lane at 2:46 in the third period, and Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) got as close as 4-2 when William Schlagenhauf scored 17:04 into the third period.

Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) got the win behind a great game by Grant Cruikshank, who had two goals and one assist. Cruikshank scored the first of his two goals at 8:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm). Kyle Joswiak assisted on the tally. Cruikshank's next tally made the score 3-1 Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) with 5:13 left in the second period. Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) played down a man on Ty Habedank's roughing.

Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) to score on any of its seven power plays. Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) forced Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) goalie Tyler Mathews to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) also got points from Brandon Turer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) were Jacob Peterson and Leman Pendley, who each chipped in one.

In addition, Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) received assists from Kyle Kawamura, ZEKE ZEIER, and Matthew Hutton, who contributed one each.

Shane Brancato made 24 saves for Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) on 26 shots. Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (mm) incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Thunder AAA Hockey (mm)'s Mathews stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Thunder AAA Hockey (mm) incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
