M1 Penn State University Berks uses shootout to best M1 West Chester University, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Penn State University Berks Nittany Lions defeated the M1 West Chester University Golden Rams in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured one attempts between both teams.

M1 Penn State University Berks came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Nittany Lions fell behind 2-1 after a goal by M1 West Chester University's Ryan Evans at 3:31 in the third period. M1 Penn State University Berks knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jesse Abarca at 10:34 in the third period.

By firing 53 shots on goal, the Nittany Lions exceeded the 0.3 shots they average per game this year.

The Golden Rams put 19 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.9 they average per game. M1 West Chester University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

James Davis also scored for M1 West Chester University. More assists for M1 West Chester University came via Justin Finnerty, Joseph Opdenaker, and Jimmy Mckee, who contributed one each.

M1 Penn State University Berks' Justin Golia stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Nittany Lions incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
