M3-Oakland University rips M3-Michigan State University, 8-1

M3-Oakland University had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over M3-Michigan State University.

Zachary Massa had two goals and one assist to lead M3-Oakland University. Massa scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M3-Oakland University. A hooking penalty on Jayson Lottes had put M3-Oakland University on the power play. Chris Hellebuyck assisted on the tally. Massa's next tally on the power play made the score 4-1 M3-Oakland University with 11:56 left in the second period.

M3-Michigan State University was stymied by M3-Oakland University's netminder Kyle Gagnon, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Gagnon managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.3 prior to the game.
