Huge game by Russell boosts Victory Honda (MM) over Cleveland Barons (MM), 6-3

Behind a great game by Jon Russell, who had one goal and two assists, Victory Honda (MM) defeated Cleveland Barons (MM), 6-3.

Russell scored on the power play 5:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Victory Honda (MM). Victory Honda (MM) had gotten the advantage when Cleveland Barons (MM)'s Jared Cruz was sent off for hooking. Dan Bosio picked up the assist. Russell dished an assist on Shane Kelly's goal that made the score 1-1 at 1:04 into the second period. He added another helper on Chaz Thomas's goal that made the score 6-2 Victory Honda (MM) at 6:17 into the third period.

Cleveland Barons (MM)'s nine penalties came back to haunt it, as Cleveland Barons (MM) let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Victory Honda (MM)'s offense rang up 39 shots on Cleveland Barons (MM)'s net. Victory Honda (MM) got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Victory Honda (MM) struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for two opposing power plays.
