Alcock leads Brantford over Dundas, 8-4

Dustin Alcock was all over the ice for the Brantford Blast, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Brantford's 8-4 win over the Dundas Real McCoys.

Alcock scored at 1:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brantford and again while 14:24 into the third to make the score 7-4 Brantford.

The Blast's offense rang up 53 shots on Dundas' net. Brantford bested its season scoring average. The Blast average 5.8 goals per game.

Brantford additionally got points from Mark Taylor, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Derek Medeiros, who also registered one goal and two assists, Joel Prpic, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jamie Williams, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Brantford included Cam Sault and Ryan McCarthy, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brantford came via Mike Burgoyne, who had two and Kyle Montpetit and Kevin Christmas, who each chipped in one.

The Real McCoys stifled Brantford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dundas kept the Blast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Marshall made 33 saves on 37 shots.

The Real McCoys were helped by Chris McGuffin, who racked up one goal. McGuffin scored 18:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Dan Lapointe assisted on the tally. Dundas also got points from Shawn Snider, who also registered one goal and one assist, Brad Bonello, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Lapointe, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Cam Watson, who had one and Jordan Foreman and Ryan Moore, who each chipped in two.

Brantford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dundas' Mike Mole stopped 45 shots out of the 53 that he faced. The Real McCoys incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities.
