Mike Burgoyne had one point to lead the Brantford Blast to a 5-2 victory over the Norwood Vipers.

Brantford stifled Norwood's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blast forced the Vipers goalie David DiGironimo to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Others who scored for Brantford included Dustin Alcock, who had two and Mark Taylor and Andrew Marcoux, who each put in one. In addition, Brantford received assists from Chris Rebernik, Derek Medeiros, Jeff Caister, and Joel Prpic, who contributed one each and Cam Sault and Jamie Williams, who each chipped in two.

Norwood was helped by Mike Hanna, who registered one goal. Hanna scored 6:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Norwood. Murray Free assisted on the tally. Norwood also got a goal from Darren Doherty as well. Other players who recorded assists for Norwood were Joe Curry and Chris Johnston, who contributed one each.

Brantford's Brett Leggat stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Blast incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. DiGironimo rejected 34 shots on goal for the Vipers. Norwood incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
