Ruberto's hat trick boosts Stoney Creek over Dundas, 10-6Gateway Ice Centre Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Mike Ruberto was the highlight in Generals' 10-6 win against the Dundas Real McCoys. Ruberto notched his first tally 1:25 into the second period. He then added goals at 4:52 into the third and at 5:28 into the third.The Stoney Creek Generals' penalty kill excelled, as Stoney Creek gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Generals stifled Dundas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stoney Creek kept the Real McCoys' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mike Mole made 34 saves on 44 shots. The Generals surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Stoney Creek averages 5.2 goals per game. Stoney Creek additionally got points from Dylan Gilbert, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Ryan Healy, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, and Matthew Reynolds, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Stoney Creek included Matt Smith and Nathan Pageau, who scored two goals each. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Dominic Crnogorac, who had one, Kyle Zettler, Sean Blanchard, and Jeff Leaist, who each chipped in two, and Chris Knighton and Dennis Maxwell, who contributed three each.
