Dundas' Campbell deadly on offense in 7-3 win against Stoney Creek

Curtis Campbell had two goals to lead the Dundas Real McCoys to a 7-3 victory over the Stoney Creek Generals.

Campbell found the back of the net 3:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dundas and again while 7:58 into the first to make the score 4-0 Dundas.

Dundas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Real McCoys forced Generals' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 34 shots and forcing 27 saves. Daniel Svedin made 25 stops and Dan Earles made two. Dundas outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Real McCoys average 4.3 goals per contest. Dundas was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of 12 man advantages.

Dundas also got points from Dan Lapointe, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Steve Hurst, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Shawn Snider also scored for Dundas. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Greg Stewart, who had two and Simon Mangos, Ryan Watson, Cam Watson, Mike Amodeo, and Scott Stafford, who contributed one each.

Stoney Creek kept the Real McCoys' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mike Mole made 52 saves on 55 shots. The Generals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Stoney Creek was helped by Kyle Zettler, who racked up one goal. Zettler scored 3:55 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Dundas. Nathan Pageau picked up the assist. Stoney Creek additionally got points from Dylan Gilbert, who also registered one goal and one assist and Pageau, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stoney Creek also got a goal from Ryan Healy as well. More assists for Stoney Creek came via Mike Ruberto and Tony Iaquinto, who each chipped in one.

The Generals registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
