Mole stymies Stoney Creek, Dundas wins 4-1

The Dundas Real McCoys relied on the sparkling performance of Mike Mole in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Stoney Creek Generals.

Dundas was sparked by Dan Lapointe, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Lapointe scored 7:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dundas. Scott Stafford picked up the assist.

Dundas additionally got points from Shawn Snider, who also registered one goal and one assist and Stafford, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dundas also got a goal from Chris McGuffin as well. In addition, Dundas received assists from Mike Amodeo, who had two and Adam Ostermier and Steve Hurst, who contributed one each.

Stoney Creek stifled the Real McCoys' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Generals did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Stoney Creek averages 5.3 goals per game. The Generals' offense rang up 51 shots on Dundas' net.

Stoney Creek was led by Mike Ruberto, who scored the team's only goal. Ruberto scored 19 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Healy provided the assist.

Mole rejected 50 shots on goal for the Real McCoys. Dundas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Marcus DelConte recorded 25 saves for the Generals. Stoney Creek incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities.
