M2 Rider University survives M2 Army comeback, wins 7-6

M2 Rider University survived a determined comeback attempt by M2 Army on the way to a 7-6 win.

M2 Rider University took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have M2 Army storm back on a Matthew Riehl goal 9:28 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

M2 Rider University bested its season scoring average. M2 Rider University has scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. M2 Rider University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. With 45 shots on target during the contest, M2 Rider University exceeded the 0.4 shots it averages per game this year.

M2 Rider University was helped by Christopher Daley, who racked up three goals. M2 Rider University also got points from Peter Malamud, who also registered one goal and one assist, Christopher Johnson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Luke Liddell, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. JJ Santagata also scored for M2 Rider University. More assists for M2 Rider University came via Brett Ansbacher, Maxwell Daley, and Conner Fox, who contributed one each and Patrick Grilli, Matthew Fox, and Andrew Heinz, who each chipped in two.

M2 Army forced M2 Rider University goalie Michael Haggerty to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

M2 Army was led by Thane Heller, who finished with three goals and two assists. M2 Army additionally got points from Michael St Denis, who also registered one goal and three assists and Riehl, who also racked up two goals and one assist. In addition, M2 Army received assists from Deritter and Chris Callahan, who contributed one each.

Haggerty rejected 42 shots on goal for M2 Rider University. M2 Rider University registered two goals on five power play opportunities. M2 Army's starting goalie, Alexander Witz, made 38 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nicholas Candelmo, who stopped zero shots. M2 Army incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
