M3-South Florida University of tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but M3-Metropolitan State Univ. Denver would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Mitchell Wynia put M3-Metropolitan State Univ. Denver up 5-3 in the second period, but M3-South Florida University of pulled to within one on Aaron Humphrey's tally 4:04 into the third period.
