M1 West Virginia University vanquishes M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)Morgantown Municipal Rink Sat, Jan 31, 2015 Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 West Virginia University Mountaineers defeated the M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout.M1 West Virginia University saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Mountaineers made the score 3-1 on a goal by Zachary LaDuke at 9:32 in the third period. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Nick Sette at 19:33 in the third period. The Crimson Hawks were unable to stop M1 West Virginia University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mountaineers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. M1 West Virginia University was helped by Nicholas Burt, who racked up one goal. Burt scored 4:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 M1 West Virginia University. Brandon Richards provided the assist. Harrison Colby also scored for M1 West Virginia University. In addition, M1 West Virginia University received assists from Vincent Fornes, who had two and Trey Bracy and Brennen Adams, who contributed one each. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania stifled the Mountaineers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
