M3-Michigan State University survives M3-Aquinas College comeback, wins 3-2

M3-Aquinas College tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but M3-Michigan State University held on for a 3-2 victory.

M3-Michigan State University made the score 3-0 on a goal by Derek Compeau at 10:22 in the third period, and M3-Aquinas College got as close as 3-2 when Brandon Scherzer scored 14:41 into the third period.

Triston Eggenberger had two goals to lead M3-Michigan State University to victory. Eggenberger scored at 2:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M3-Michigan State University and again while 15:57 into the first to make the score 2-0 M3-Michigan State University.

M3-Michigan State University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M3-Aquinas College to score on any of its four power plays. The 30 shots that M3-Michigan State University put on net surpassed M3-Michigan State University's average of 0.7 shots per game this season.

In addition, M3-Michigan State University received assists from Zachary King, Matthew Cox, Connor Flynn, Michael Lipari, Chris Coyne, and Tyler Bitterman, who contributed one each.
