M1 West Virginia University outlasts M1 Duquesne University, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the M1 West Virginia University Mountaineers escaped with a 3-2 victory over the M1 Duquesne University Dukes.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Brennen Adams's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Adams had a great game for M1 West Virginia University, netting two goals.

The Mountaineers put 24 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.9 they average per game. M1 West Virginia University got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

M1 West Virginia University also got a goal from Trey Bracy as well. More assists for M1 West Virginia University came via Zachary LaDuke, Brandon Richards, Joseph Baker, Gerard Clayton, and James Murray, who each chipped in one.

M1 Duquesne University stifled the Mountaineers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 27 shots that the Dukes put on net surpassed M1 Duquesne University's average of 1.7 shot per game this season.

The Dukes were helped by Nolan Trombetta, who finished with one goal. Trombetta scored on the power play 11:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. M1 Duquesne University earned a power play opportunity when Bracy was put in the box for cross checking. Zack Richey picked up the assist. Brett Reagan also scored for M1 Duquesne University. In addition, M1 Duquesne University received assists from Kyle Brown, Julian Rizza, and Jason Bruce, who contributed one each.

M1 West Virginia University's Eric Schaetzle stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Mountaineers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dylan Lawrence made 21 saves for the Dukes on 24 shots. M1 Duquesne University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
