The M1 Mercyhurst University Lakers, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the M1 Slippery Rock University Pride and clinched a 5-3 victory.

M1 Mercyhurst University led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Lakers' Jesse Valasek scored short handed at 9:20 in the third period to put M1 Mercyhurst University up 4-1.

The Lakers stifled M1 Slippery Rock University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Mercyhurst University put 43 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.4 it averages per game.

The Lakers were led by Joseph Tadiello, who racked up two goals. Tadiello scored the first of his two goals at 16:38 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Peter Hlusko assisted on the tally.
